Does watching porn affect your relationship?

Research shows the answer is a resounding yes. Here is a summary of the findings.

1. People who view porn either alone or with their partner have:
   – More negative communication
   – Less sexual satisfaction
   – Twice the rate of infidelity
2. Watching porn reduces commitment to the relationship
   – Abstaining from porn for as few as 3 weeks increases relationship commitment.
   – In research, test subjects shown porn were more likely to flirt and cheat on their partners than those who were not shown porn.  This effect persisted even for people who previously reported high satisfaction with their partner.

A majority of men believe that watching porn is harmless.  Research clearly shows that this is not the case.  If you want more happiness with your partner (and by extension more happiness in life), then cut out the porn.  If you have tried to stop without success, seek professional assistance.
